Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C30 Electric (2011–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
The control module has been told that the battery in one of the tyre pressure sensors is weak. Because the fault code does not tie the sensor to a particular wheel, you need to compare the sensor ID with the wheels to see which one is affected. A weak battery can make the sensor stop transmitting.
Possible causes
- Low battery voltage in the tyre pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the remote receiver works with the remote control
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, note the sensor ID for the frozen fault and see which sensor is affected
- 3Have a workshop replace the tyre pressure sensor with the matching ID
- 4Clear the fault code and road test to see whether the message returns
Symptoms you may notice2
- Text window and warning symbol in the display
- Tyre pressure monitoring warning lights and chimes do not show the correct status
