CEM-B100A15
VOLVO
CEM-B100A15 - Fuel pump authorisation. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to battery or open
System
Central Electronic Module (CEM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
4 modelsS80 (2007–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
Show models by year and engine (4)
What does this fault code mean?
CEM monitors the voltage on the supply wire feeding the fuel pump. The fault code is stored when the signal wire is broken or touches battery voltage. Starting is then affected.
Possible causes
- Signal cable shorted to battery voltage
- Open circuit in the signal cable to the fuel pump
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the engine control are intact
- 2With the ignition on, check the cable to the fuel pump for chafing, pinching and loose connections
- 3With the ignition on, use a multimeter to check whether the signal cable has voltage; voltage when the ignition is off means a short to battery voltage
- 4Use a multimeter to check whether the cable is broken by testing continuity between the connectors
- 5Remedy the fault and clear the fault code. If starting is still unreliable, have a workshop check the control module and the fuel pump
Symptoms you may notice2
- The engine does not start
- Starting may be unreliable, either at times or all the time
