What does this fault code mean?
The control module (CEM) switches the relay that feeds the auxiliary lights through a control signal. The fault code is stored when the control wire to the relay is shorted to earth or has an open circuit. The auxiliary lights then do not work.
Possible causes
- The control wire to the relay is shorted to earth
- Break in the supply wire to the auxiliary lights
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the auxiliary lights are intact
- 2With the ignition on, check the wires to the relay and the auxiliary lights for chafing, pinching and loose connections
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check whether the control wire has contact with earth (the body)
- 4Use a multimeter to check whether the supply wire to the auxiliary lights is broken between the connectors
- 5Remedy the fault and clear the fault code. If it remains, have a workshop check the relay and the control module
