VOLVO
CEM-B102922 - Accelerator Pedal Sensor. General Signal Failures. Signal too high
System
Central Electronic Module (CEM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The central electronic module (CEM) monitors the voltage on the signal wire from the accelerator pedal position sensor. The fault code is stored when the signal is too high, which is caused by the signal wire being shorted to voltage or the sensor being damaged. The accelerator pedal may then not respond.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to voltage
- Damaged accelerator pedal position sensor
What you can do
- 1Do not carry on driving if the accelerator pedal does not respond normally. It can be dangerous in traffic, so stop safely and contact a workshop
- 2Look for loose or chafed wires at the accelerator pedal, especially where the pedal moves
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check whether the signal wire from the pedal has voltage
- 4Remedy the short circuit if it is found and clear the fault code
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the accelerator pedal sensor
Symptoms you may notice2
- The engine feels sluggish
- No response from the accelerator pedal
