What does this fault code mean?
The right main headlamp control unit (RHCU) has reported an internal fault. The fault may lie in connections inside the control unit or in the unit itself. The side and height adjustment of the headlamp and automatic high beam can then be affected.
Possible causes
- Faults in external connections to the right main headlamp control unit (RHCU)
- Faults in internal connections between the parts of the right main headlamp control unit
- Damaged right main headlamp control unit (RHCU)
What you can do
- 1Check the connectors, contacts and wiring to the right headlamp for looseness, contact resistance and oxidation, and gently move the wiring with the ignition on
- 2If no fault is visible in the wiring or connectors, the right headlamp may need replacing. Have a workshop do it and check the setting afterwards
- 3Clear the fault code and road test to see whether it returns
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, compare the live side-adjustment data of the right and left headlamps while turning the steering wheel
Symptoms you may notice4
- Side adjustment of the right headlamp does not follow the steering wheel correctly, or does not work
- Height adjustment of the right headlamp is wrong or does not work
- Amber warning symbol and text message in the display
- Main beam with automatic high beam control does not work
What the fault can affect2
- The light range is held in a fixed setting
- Side adjustment stops in the straight-ahead position
