What does this fault code mean?
The control module monitors the collision input from the supplemental restraint system (SRS). The fault shows that the signal differs from the expected value, which can be caused by a break in the signal wire, poor contact or an incorrect voltage supply to the restraint system.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal wire to the restraint system
- Contact resistance or oxidation in connections
- Incorrect voltage supply to the restraint system
What you can do
- 1Read off and note the code and check whether it returns when the ignition is switched on
- 2Check that the fuses are intact and that the battery is in good condition, as low or unstable voltage can cause the fault
- 3Do not work on the airbag system yourself, even if a connector looks loose: have a workshop check the wiring and the airbag control module
- 4Do not drive the car with a restraint system warning until a workshop has checked it
