CEM-B10A206 - Crash Input. General Failure Information. Algorithm Based Failures
System
Central Electronic Module (CEM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The CEM monitors the collision input from the supplemental restraint system (SRS). The fault shows that both collision signals give incorrect values, which points to a problem with connectors, wiring or the voltage supply to the system.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in connections
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Incorrect voltage supply to the supplemental restraint system (SRS)
What you can do
- 1Read off and note the code, but do not clear it until the restraint system has been checked
- 2Check that the battery is in good condition and that the fuses are intact, since incorrect voltage can cause the fault
- 3Look for loose or corroded connectors on the wiring to the restraint system, but do not work on the wiring yourself
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself: have a workshop check the wiring and the restraint system control module
- 5Do not drive the car with a restraint system warning until a workshop has checked it
Symptoms you may notice1
- Text message and warning symbol in the display
What the fault can affect1
- The last approved value is used instead of the current value
