Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The control module checks the collision input from the supplemental restraint system (SRS). The fault shows that the signal is too low, which can be caused by a short to ground in the signal wire or by an incorrect voltage supply to the system.
Possible causes
- The signal wire is shorted to ground
- Incorrect voltage supply to the supplemental restraint system (SRS)
What you can do
- 1Read off and note the code, but do not clear it until the restraint system has been checked
- 2Check that the fuses are intact and that the battery holds its voltage
- 3Look for chafed or pinched wires to the restraint system, but do not work on the wiring yourself
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself: have a workshop check the restraint system and its wiring
- 5Do not drive the car with a restraint system warning until a workshop has checked it
