Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsV40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
On vehicles with dimmed daytime running lights, each light is fed from the CEM through two outputs. The fault shows that the voltage on the wire to the dimmed daytime running light is too high, which can be caused by a short to battery voltage or a break in the supply. The fault is checked when the parking lights are not switched on.
Possible causes
- The supply is shorted to battery voltage
- Break in the supply wire
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and check whether it returns when the ignition is switched on
- 2Check that the fuse for the daytime running lights is intact
- 3Check that the connectors to the daytime running lights are fully engaged and not corroded
- 4Use a multimeter (ignition off, connector unplugged) to check that the wire to the dimmed daytime running light is not at battery voltage and has no break
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the wiring to the daytime running lights
Symptoms you may notice3
- The dimmed daytime running light does not work
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- The bulb failure warning in the instruments comes on or behaves abnormally
