What you can do
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact, especially the one for the fuel pump. Their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the supply cable to the fuel pump has no contact with ground (the body)
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the fuel pump and listen for it to start
- 4Look for chafing on the fuel pump supply cable where it may have been pinched
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the wiring and the control module
