CEM-B10C015 - Fuel Pump Power Supply. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to battery or open
System

Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsV40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The CEM monitors the voltage supply to the fuel pump and the voltage on the cable. The code is stored when the supply cable is short-circuited to supply voltage or has an open circuit. The engine may then have difficulty starting or not start at all, and the fault may come and go or stay.
Possible causes
- The supply cable has an open circuit
- The supply cable is short-circuited to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact, especially the one for the fuel pump. Their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Look for chafing and loose connections in the wiring to the fuel pump
- 3Use a multimeter to check whether the supply cable to the pump has voltage when the pump should not be switched on
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the cable to the pump is not broken, for example by checking continuity between two contact points
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the wiring and the control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- Engine does not start, either sometimes or always
