Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The CEM talks to the sun roof module (SRM) and monitors the speed signal sent to it. The code is stored when the signal on the sunroof speed circuit is too low. This can be caused by the signal cable being short-circuited to ground or having a break. The automatic closing of the sunroof then does not work.
Possible causes
- The signal cable is short-circuited to ground
- Open circuit in the signal cable
What you can do
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact. Their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the speed cable to the sunroof has no contact with ground (the body)
- 3Check the connectors in the cable to the sunroof and look for chafing
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: compare the speed value in live data with the speedometer during a drive
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the wiring and the control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- Auto-close function of the sunroof does not work
