Possible causes
- Damaged switch that shows the lock motor position
- The lock motor is stuck
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fault codes in the driver and passenger door modules (DDM and PDM)
- 2Turn on the child lock with the switch on the driver's door control panel and check that the rear door then cannot be opened from inside
- 3Check that the fuse for the left rear door module is intact. Use a multimeter to check that the wire is not shorted to ground before replacing the fuse
- 4Look for chafing and pinch damage in the wiring to the rear door and check that the connectors are secure
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the bus and the control modules
