What does this fault code mean?
The CEM checks the heartbeat sensor through control messages. The sensor tests its own function when it is activated, and the code is stored when the CEM receives an error message from the sensor saying that its internal check has found a fault. The alarm then does not work through the sensor, and a message may appear in the information display.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the heartbeat sensor
What you can do
- 1Note the code, clear it and arm the alarm to see whether the fault returns
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the sensor status in live data and check whether it gives a valid response
- 3Check that the connector to the sensor is secure and clean
- 4If the fault does not return after clearing, it may have been a temporary fault at start-up and no action is needed
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop replace the heartbeat sensor
Symptoms you may notice2
- The alarm does not work through the sensor
- Message in the information display
