What does this fault code mean?
The twilight sensor gives the CEM information about the light conditions, and the CEM uses it to set the brightness of the symbols and the instrument lighting. The code is stored when the sensor itself reports an internal fault, and then the instrument and button lighting does not work as it should.
Possible causes
- Internal short circuit in the twilight sensor
What you can do
- 1Note the code, clear it and check whether it returns after a drive
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the twilight sensor value in live data and check whether it changes when the light changes
- 3Check that the relevant fuses are intact. Their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment replace the twilight sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- Instrument and button lighting does not work
What the fault can affect2
- The control module selects night mode for the interior lighting
- The instrument lighting brightness is set to the night level
