What does this fault code mean?
The sunroof is controlled by a request from the Central Electronic Module (CEM), sent over a dedicated signal wire to the sunroof module (SRM). The fault is stored when the signal from the CEM is too low. This may be caused by a wire that is short-circuited to earth or by an open circuit in the signal wire.
Possible causes
- The wire is short-circuited to earth
- Open circuit in the signal wire to the sunroof module
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Clear the fault code and try to operate the sunroof to see whether the fault returns
- 3Check the sunroof cable harness for chafing and loose connectors, both at the sunroof and at the control module
- 4Use a multimeter between the connector ends to check that the wire is intact and has no contact with earth (the body)
- 5If the fault remains despite these checks, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the sunroof and the wiring
Symptoms you may notice1
- Power sunroof does not work
What the fault can affect2
- The function switches off permanently after 100 driving cycles where the fault was detected
- Erasing the fault codes resets the function
