What does this fault code mean?
The CEM watches the power feed to the left-hand front fog lamp. The fault is stored when the voltage on the output is too low while the fog lamp is switched on. This is caused by poor contact in the connections or by the signal wire being short-circuited to earth.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance, oxidation or poor contact in the connections to the fog lamp
- The signal wire to the fog lamp is short-circuited to earth
What you can do
- 1Check that the fog lamp fuses are intact
- 2Switch on the fog lamps and see whether the left lamp lights, then clear the code and road test
- 3Check the connectors at the fog lamp and at the control module, and clean and press in any that are loose or oxidised
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no contact with earth (the body) with the connectors disconnected
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the control module and the wiring

What the fault can affect3
- The output switches off during the driving cycle in which the fault is detected
- If the fault remains, the output is switched off permanently after 100 driving cycles
- Erasing the fault codes and starting a new driving cycle resets the output
