CEM-B117564 - Drivers door ajar switch. Algorithm Based Failures. Signal plausibility failure
System
Central Electronic Module (CEM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The Central Electronic Module (CEM) controls locking of the door lock motors and gets the position of the lock motors over the CAN network from the door modules on the driver and passenger sides. The fault is stored when the module receives a signal that is not plausible.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance, oxidation or poor contact in the connections
- Damaged switch for the driver door
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, check in live data that the driver door position changes between open and closed as the door is opened and closed
- 3Check that the connectors in the driver door wiring harness are secure and not corroded
- 4Clear the fault code and check whether it returns after a new driving cycle
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the driver door switch
Symptoms you may notice1
- The parking brake may work poorly, incorrectly or not at all
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
