What does this fault code mean?
The CEM controls the foldable head restraint on the rear seat. The fault is stored when the signal from the output is too high. The cause can be poor contact in the connections or an open circuit in the signal wire.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance, oxidation or poor contact in the connections
- Open circuit in the signal wire
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Check the connectors at the head restraint and at the control module: oxidised or loose connectors should be cleaned and pressed in
- 3Check the signal wire to the head restraint for breaks, chafing and pinch damage
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wire is continuous between the connector ends
- 5Clear the fault code and try to fold the head restraint to see whether the fault returns
Symptoms you may notice1
- The foldable head restraint on the rear seat cannot be folded
