CEM-B11D453 - Low Speed Collision Mitigation By Braking Disabled. System Programming Failures. Deactivated
System
Central Electronic Module (CEM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
6 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), XC60 (2009–)
What does this fault code mean?
The Central Electronic Module (CEM) continuously receives information from the collision speed module (CVM) and checks that the information is correct. The fault is stored when the CVM sends an incorrect signal for long enough.
Possible causes
- Short circuit or open circuit in the CAN wiring
- Faulty collision speed module (CVM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Check the CAN wiring between the CEM and the collision speed module for chafing, pinch damage, breaks and short circuits
- 3If the fault code CEM-U023500 is also stored, fault-trace that one first
- 4The fault may need new software in the collision speed module, which is a job for a workshop
- 5Drive carefully and allow for the fact that braking at low speed will not work until the fault is repaired
Symptoms you may notice2
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- City Safety may intervene incorrectly or not intervene at all
