What does this fault code mean?
This is an event code: it shows that the car has been subjected to a crash above a certain threshold, and does not mean that the module reporting it has a fault. The CEM has received the crash signal from the airbag system control module (SRS) both over a direct wire and over CAN communication.
Possible causes
- The car has been subjected to crash force above a certain threshold
What you can do
- 1This code is an event record, and there is no fault-tracing procedure for it
- 2Insert the key and start the car to check that it leaves crash status and starts normally
- 3Do not work on the airbag system yourself: have a workshop check the airbags, the SRS control module and the wiring after a crash
- 4Do not clear the code until the workshop has checked the airbag system
Symptoms you may notice2
- The airbag system (SRS) warning lamp may be on
- A text message may appear in the display
What the fault can affect2
- The car is put into crash status and the fuel pump is switched off
- When the key is inserted and the car is started, it leaves crash status automatically if it is working correctly
