What does this fault code mean?
This variant of the crash event code is an electrical fault on the crash signal wire between the airbag system control module (SRS) and the CEM. The wire is either short-circuited to voltage or has an open circuit.
Possible causes
- A break in the signal wire, or a short to voltage on it
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Do not work on the airbag system yourself, as incorrect work on the wiring can deploy the airbags
- 3Have a workshop check the crash signal wire between the SRS control module and the CEM for breaks and short circuits to voltage
- 4Have the workshop clear the fault code only after the wire has been checked and repaired
Symptoms you may notice2
- The airbag system (SRS) warning lamp may be on
- A text message may appear in the display
