What does this fault code mean?
The CEM communicates with the overhead console (OHC) and the rear reading light (RRL) over the LIN bus, and handles calibration of the sunshade through the overhead console. The fault is stored when the overhead console cannot be configured because it lacks some of the parameters it needs.
Possible causes
- The overhead console lacks some of the parameters it needs
What you can do
- 1Try the sunshade and the reading lights with their buttons and note which functions do not work
- 2Clear the fault code and start the car: if the fault code returns, configuration has failed again
- 3Check the connectors at the overhead console and the wire on the LIN bus for chafing and loose connections
- 4If configuration fails repeatedly, have a workshop configure or replace the overhead console
Symptoms you may notice3
- The electric sunshade in the panoramic roof does not work
- The seat belt reminder lamp does not work as it should
- The lighting in the passenger compartment does not work
