What does this fault code mean?
The CEM communicates with the overhead console (OHC) and the rear reading light (RRL) over the LIN bus. The fault is stored when communication with the overhead console is missing, and the fault affects the passenger compartment lighting and the electric sunshade.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the communication wire to the overhead console
- Contact resistance, oxidation or poor contact in the connector terminals and connections
- The overhead console is not receiving power
- Damaged overhead console (OHC)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact and that the overhead console receives power
- 2Check the connectors at the overhead console: loose or oxidised connectors should be cleaned and pressed in
- 3Check the communication wire to the overhead console for breaks and chafing
- 4Use a multimeter to check that voltage is present at the overhead console connector with the ignition on
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check or replace the overhead console
Symptoms you may notice2
- The lighting in the passenger compartment does not work
- The electric sunshade in the panoramic roof does not work
