What does this fault code mean?
The central electronic module (CEM) controls the auxiliary lights through a relay. The code is set when the voltage on the control signal wire is low, even when the control module is not sending an activation signal.
Possible causes
- Blown fuse
- Damaged relay
- The supply wire is shorted to ground
- Open circuit on the supply wire
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code and check whether it comes back after a new driving cycle
- 2Check the auxiliary light fuse; if it is blown, find the cause before a new one is fitted
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire has no contact with ground (the bodywork)
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire is continuous between its two ends
- 5If the fuse and wire are sound, have a workshop check the auxiliary light relay
Symptoms you may notice1
- The auxiliary lights do not work
