CEM-C110812
VOLVO
CEM-C110812 - Pedal Sensor(s) Supply Voltage. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to battery
System
Central Electronic Module (CEM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The central electronic module (CEM) supplies the clutch pedal sensor and the throttle pedal sensor. The code is set when a wire in the circuit is shorted to voltage, and the cruise control is then switched off.
Possible causes
- The wire to the pedal sensors is shorted to battery voltage
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code and check whether it returns after the ignition is switched off and on
- 2Check the fuse for the pedal sensors
- 3Use a multimeter to see whether the wire to the pedal sensors has voltage with the ignition off
- 4Look for chafing and damaged insulation on the cable to the pedals
- 5If the wire is intact, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the sensors and the control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- The cruise control does not work at all
What the fault can affect3
- The cruise control is switched off
- After repeated driving cycles with the fault, the function is switched off permanently
- Clearing the fault codes resets the output
