CEM-C112015 - Reversing lamp. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to battery or open
System
Central Electronic Module (CEM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The central electronic module (CEM) monitors the voltage supply to the reversing lights. The code is set when the signal from the output is too high, which can be caused by poor contact, an open circuit in the signal wire or a short to voltage.
Possible causes
- Poor contact, oxidation or play in the connections
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- The signal wire is shorted to voltage
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code and check the reversing lights by engaging reverse
- 2Check that the reversing light bulbs are intact
- 3Check the reversing light fuse
- 4Use a multimeter to see whether the signal wire has voltage with the ignition off
- 5Look for loose or corroded connectors; have a workshop check the module output if the wiring is intact
Symptoms you may notice1
- The reversing lights do not work
What the fault can affect2
- After repeated driving cycles with the fault, the function is switched off permanently
- Clearing the fault codes resets the output
