What does this fault code mean?
The wipers and the rain sensor are controlled by the central module over the LIN bus. This code is logged when the wiper motor (WMM) and/or the rain sensor (RSM) cannot be reached. The cause may be a short circuit or break in the wires, or an internal fault in one of the modules.
Possible causes
- Short circuit between the LIN wires
- Open circuit in one of the LIN wires
- Internal fault in one of the modules involved
- Fault in another unit on the same LIN network
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the wipers and the rain sensor are intact, using the owner's manual
- 2With a multimeter, check the wires to the wiper motor module and the rain sensor for breaks and contact with ground
- 3If the wires are intact, have a workshop replace the wiper motor module and check its function afterwards

- The rain sensor gives no function
- The windshield wipers do not work

- The wipers may run too fast, too slow or with too short intervals for a time
- The wipers may stop
