CEM-P062F00 - Internal Control Module EEPROM Error. General Failure Information. No sub type information
System
Central Electronic Module (CEM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The CEM has registered a fault in its EEPROM memory, where settings and data are stored. The code is generic and does not say what type of memory fault it is. It can also be set by other causes, such as low battery voltage, so the fault does not necessarily mean the module is faulty.
Possible causes
- Damaged central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Check the battery. Low battery voltage can cause the CEM to be forced into a fallback state temporarily, and then the code can be set
- 2Cycle the ignition once, off and then on, to start a new driving cycle, and then read the fault codes again
- 3With a diagnostic tool, check whether the code is intermittent. An intermittent code is usually not a hardware fault in the CEM
- 4If the code returns straight away after the battery has been checked and the ignition cycled, a workshop is the right place to look at the CEM
- 5Replacing the CEM is a workshop task, since the workshop also codes the correct data into the new module
- 6After the work, check that the engine starts and that the fault code does not return
Symptoms you may notice4
- The engine does not start
- No gauges work
- The turn signals do not work
- Reduced performance
