Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The fault code means that the control module storing the fault has no working link to the driver door module (DDM), or the link is disturbed. The driver door cannot be operated from the central locking, and the module moves into a limited mode to protect its function. The fault concerns the network rather than one individual control module.
Possible causes
- Missing voltage supply to the driver door module (DDM)
- Broken ground wire to the driver door module
- Poor contact in the connections
- Open or shorted CAN wiring
- A module not intended for the car, such as a used unit with other software or hardware
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition on and run the window lift. The window should open or close, which shows the module has power
- 2Confirm the fuse for the driver door module in the rear relay and fuse centre is intact
- 3Check the wire from the rear relay and fuse centre to the module for breaks and shorts to ground, and the connectors for contact resistance
- 4Check the ground wire for breaks or a short to voltage, and the ground connection for oxidation
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check the CAN wiring. Replace the CEM only if testing shows it is faulty
Symptoms you may notice2
- Driver door cannot be operated from the central locking switch
- Driver door switch panel does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Limited function in the driver door module (limp-home mode)
