Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsV40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The fault code means that the control module storing the fault has no working link to the right side obstacle detection module (SODR), or the link is disturbed. The blind spot system and cross traffic alert on the right side can then stop working. The fault concerns the network and not one individual control module.
Possible causes
- No voltage supply to the right side obstacle detection module (SODR)
- Broken ground wire to the SODR
- Poor contact in the connections
- Open or shorted CAN wiring
- A module not intended for the car, such as a used unit with other software or hardware
What you can do
- 1Check the power supply and body ground point for the SODR, and confirm the connectors are tight and free of oxidation
- 2Check the SODR connector for contact resistance, oxidation and loose contact
- 3Check the ground wire for breaks or a short to voltage, and the body ground point
- 4If the fault returns, have a workshop check the CAN network. Replace the CEM only when testing shows it is damaged
Symptoms you may notice2
- Blind spot information system (BLIS) does not function
- Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) does not function
