Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
6 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The fault code means that the control module storing the fault has no working link to the front display module (HLDF), or the link is disturbed. The front display may then fail to fold up or light. The fault may be intermittent, so the function should be checked again if it starts working.
Possible causes
- No voltage feed to the front display module (HLDF)
- Broken ground wire to the HLDF
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Open or shorted CAN wiring
- A module not intended for the car, such as a used unit with other software or hardware
What you can do
- 1Turn on the navigation system. The display should fold up and its backlight should come on. If it does, power and CAN communication are fine and the fault is intermittent
- 2Check the fuse for the circuit
- 3Check the supply voltage and the body connection, and confirm the connectors are seated
- 4If the fault returns, have a workshop replace or check the front display module. Replace the CEM only if testing has shown it is damaged
Symptoms you may notice1
- Front display does not work
