Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The central electronic module (CEM) monitors the engine control module (ECM) software and stores this code when that software is faulty or has been changed, for example after a software optimisation. If the software was changed on purpose, the code does not need to be acted on. If it has not been changed, the software may be corrupted.
Possible causes
- The engine control module software has been changed
- Incorrect checksum in the engine control module software
What you can do
- 1If the engine control module has had modified software, for example an optimisation, that explains the code and it needs no action
- 2Tell the workshop that the software has been modified so that it is not overwritten by mistake during a software download
- 3If the software has not been changed on purpose, have a workshop download new software to the engine control module
