What does this fault code mean?
The fault code means that CEM receives information from the engine control module (ECM), but the quality of that signal is lower than CEM accepts. The cause lies in the ECM, and that is where fault-finding should take place. The adaptive cruise control may then stop working.
Possible causes
- The cause of the fault lies in the engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses in the car are intact, and read in the handbook where they are located
- 2Test the relevant functions with buttons and controls or on a road test to see whether the fault shows
- 3With a diagnostic tool, read the engine module fault codes and note whether any are linked to this code
- 4Have a workshop fault-find the engine control module with diagnostic equipment. Replace it only when testing has shown it is faulty
Symptoms you may notice1
