What does this fault code mean?
The fault code means that CEM receives incorrect signals from the closing velocity module (CVM). The fault lies in the CVM, and it can affect City Safety, either with false interventions or with no intervention. The fault may be temporary or permanent, and it is judged case by case.
Possible causes
- Fault in the closing velocity module (CVM)
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off and on to see whether the fault returns, to judge whether it is temporary or permanent
- 2Check that the fuses are intact and look up their positions in the handbook
- 3Safety: City Safety affects braking. Have a workshop read the fault code and check the system with diagnostic equipment
- 4For a permanent fault, a workshop can download new software to the CVM. If that does not help, the workshop replaces the CVM, not the CEM
Symptoms you may notice3
- City Safety intervenes falsely
- City Safety does not work
- City Safety does not intervene when needed
