What does this fault code mean?
The fault code means that CEM receives invalid information from the cruise control front distance sensor. The cause lies in the closing velocity module (CVM), which has an internal fault. The fault can cause City Safety to intervene falsely, not work at all, or fail to intervene when needed.
Possible causes
- The CVM has an internal electronic fault
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off and on to see whether the fault returns, to judge whether it is temporary or permanent
- 2Check that the fuses are intact and look up their positions in the handbook
- 3Safety: City Safety affects braking. Have a workshop read the code and check the system with diagnostic equipment
- 4For a permanent fault, a workshop downloads new CVM software if needed, and replaces the CVM if that does not help. Do not replace the CEM
Symptoms you may notice3
- City Safety intervenes falsely
- City Safety does not work
- City Safety does not intervene when needed
