Applies to the following models:

What does this fault code mean?
The fault code means that CEM receives an incorrect value from the phone module (PHM), which handles the telematics in the car. The fault can stop Volvo On Call from working. The cause may be faulty software in the PHM or in the CEM, so it is a software issue rather than a wiring fault.
Possible causes
- Faulty software in the phone module (PHM)
- Faulty software in the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop download new software to the phone module (PHM) with diagnostic equipment. This is the first step
- 2If the fault remains, the workshop downloads new software to the CEM
- 3Do not replace the CEM unnecessarily, since the fault can often be fixed with software
- 4After the update, check whether the Volvo On Call functions work
