What does this fault code mean?
The fault code means that the answer from the keyless vehicle module (KVM) is missing when a passive start attempt is made. The fault may lie in the CAN network, the remote key or the KVM. The car may then not start with the keyless function, and a message can show in the display.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Internal fault in the remote key
- Internal fault in the keyless vehicle module (KVM)
- Open circuit in the CAN network
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in CEM. If code CEM-U021400 is also set, trace that one first, since the two are linked
- 2Have a workshop download new software to the KVM, then check whether the car can be started keylessly
- 3Replace the KVM only if the workshop finds an internal fault in it after the update
- 4After the repair, check that the car starts keylessly and that the fault code does not come back
Symptoms you may notice2
- Starter motor does not turn over
- Message in the information display
