Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsV40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
On the V40, The CEM has no power from one of its two supply cables. The loads are split between both cables, so a break in one leaves only part of the exterior lighting, for example, without power. One of the supplies also feeds the fuel pump, so the engine cannot be started while the fault is present.
Possible causes
- A fuse in the battery main fuse box is blown
What you can do
- 1Check the fuses in the battery main fuse box and replace a blown fuse with a new one of the same rating
- 2Use a multimeter to confirm that voltage reaches the module even with the ignition off
- 3If the fuse blows again, have a workshop check the wiring from the battery to the module
- 4Safety: disconnect the battery before working on wiring near it, and have a workshop do this if you are unsure
