What does this fault code mean?
The CPM has logged a flame sensor signal that reads too high. The cause may be the cable being shorted to supply voltage, a break in the cable, poor connections or a damaged flame sensor. The heater cannot be activated until the fault code has been cleared.
Possible causes
- The cable between the CPM and the flame sensor is shorted to supply voltage
- Break in the cable between the CPM and the flame sensor
- Contact resistance, oxidation or loose connections
- Damaged flame sensor
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and check whether it returns
- 2Disconnect the connector at the flame sensor and check that the contacts are secure and free from oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the cable from the connector to the flame sensor carries no voltage when the heater is off; if it does, the cable is shorted to positive
- 4Use a multimeter to check the cable is intact between the connectors; a break means the cable must be replaced
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check the flame sensor
Symptoms you may notice5
- The front of the cabin is not warm enough
- The front of the cabin heats up slowly
- The rear of the cabin is not warm enough
- The heater does not work
- The parking heater does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The heater cannot be activated until the fault code has been cleared
