What does this fault code mean?
The fault code concerns the combustion air fan motor in the auxiliary heater. The positive feed to the fan has a short to ground, or the signal from the fan is too low. The heater's function is blocked. The fault may be caused by a damaged fan motor, a short in the wiring, or a fan wheel that is stuck with dirt or ice.
Possible causes
- Damaged fan motor
- Cable between the heater control module and the fan short-circuited to ground
- The fan wheel is jammed or stuck, for example due to freezing or dirt
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check that the fan wheel turns freely by hand without sticking. Clean away any dirt or ice.
- 2Check the connectors at the fan motor and in the heater for corrosion, looseness and oxidation.
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the cable to the fan motor has no contact with ground (the body).
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the heater fan and listen for a buzzing sound. If nothing is heard, the fault is probably still present.
- 5Replace the fan motor if it is damaged, or have a workshop do it.
Symptoms you may notice3

- The parking or auxiliary heater does not work when it is activated
