What does this fault code mean?
The flame goes out now and then during normal operation, after the heater has started. The control module sets the fault code, and the heater may make several start attempts before it is blocked. The fault may be caused by too little fuel reaching the heater, a damaged fuel system, a blocked intake system or a damaged flame sensor.
Possible causes
- Too little fuel reaching the heater
- Damaged fuel system
- Reduced fuel supply to the heater
- Blocked intake system
- Damaged flame sensor
What you can do
- 1Check the fuel level in the tank and top up if it is low.
- 2Use gloves and safety goggles, as fuel can spill. With the ignition off, check the fuel lines for leaks.
- 3Clear any obstructions in the air inlet and exhaust pipe, such as leaves, snow or dirt.
- 4Look at the flame sensor, and have a workshop clean or replace it if it is dirty or damaged.
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop check the fuel system and the fuel supply.
Symptoms you may notice2
- Poor heating in the cabin
- The parking or auxiliary heater does not work when it is activated
What the fault can affect1
- The heater's function is blocked after six start attempts
