Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The heater has been informed of a crash and has switched itself off. It cannot be started again until the airbag system fault codes have been reset. The fault is therefore a consequence of the collision and not a fault in the heater.
Possible causes
- The car has been in a collision, and the heater has received the crash signal
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check that the connectors to the heater are firmly seated and free from corrosion.
- 2Once the airbag system fault codes have been reset: test drive the heater and check that it starts and heats.
- 3If the heater does not start after the test drive, have a workshop investigate further.
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself. After a collision where an airbag has deployed, a workshop must check the system and reset its fault codes.
Symptoms you may notice4
- The parking heater does not work
- The heat does not get hot enough in the rear section
- The heat does not get hot enough in the front section
- The heater does not work with the temperature control
What the fault can affect2
- The heater's function is blocked
- The heater cannot be started again until the airbag system fault codes have been reset
