What does this fault code mean?
The fault code says that one of the signal wires between the position sensor in the front roof section and the roof control module is short-circuited to battery voltage. The roof can then be operated only in a limited way or not at all. The fault may lie in the wiring, in the sensor, or in how the sensor is fitted.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to battery voltage
- Position sensor not working
- Position sensor incorrectly fitted
- Internal fault in the convertible roof control module
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, look for damage to the signal wire between the position sensor and the roof control module, such as chafing, damage or pinching.
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no battery voltage when the ignition is off. Voltage means a short to positive, and the wire must then be repaired.
- 3Check that the position sensor is correctly fitted and that its connector is firmly seated.
- 4If the wire is in good condition and the sensor is correctly fitted, have a workshop replace the position sensor.
- 5If the fault remains after this, have a workshop replace the convertible roof control module, as the fault most likely lies within it.
