What does this fault code mean?
Hall sensor 5 in the convertible roof gives no pulse when the hydraulic pump that operates the roof is running. The fault may be caused by the signal wire between the hall sensor and the control module being short-circuited to battery voltage, or by a damaged sensor itself. The roof may then be operated only in a limited way or not at all.
Possible causes
- The signal wire between the hall sensor and the roof control module is short-circuited to voltage
- Damaged hall sensor
- Internal fault in the convertible roof control module
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, look for damage to the signal wire between the hall sensor and the roof control module.
- 2With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not short-circuited to the battery positive.
- 3Check that the connectors at the hall sensor and at the control module are firmly seated and clean.
- 4If the wire is in good condition, have a workshop replace the hall sensor.
- 5If the fault remains after the wire and sensor have been checked, have a workshop fault-trace the roof control module.
Symptoms you may notice2
