What does this fault code mean?
Hall sensor 5 in the convertible roof gives no pulse when the hydraulic pump is running, and its power consumption is too high. The fault may be caused by a signal wire short-circuited to ground, a broken connection between the sensor and the control module, or an internal fault in the sensor or the control module. The roof may then be operated only in a limited way or not at all.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to ground
- Broken connection between the hall sensor and the roof control module
- Internal fault in the hall sensor
- Internal fault in the convertible roof control module
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check the connectors at the hall sensor and at the roof control module for looseness, oxidation or unlatched contacts.
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not broken and has no contact with ground (the body).
- 3If the connector and wire are in order, have a workshop replace the hall sensor.
- 4If the fault remains after the hall sensor has been replaced, have a workshop fault-trace or replace the roof control module.
