What does this fault code mean?
Hall sensor 19 in the convertible roof gives no pulse when the hydraulic pump is running, and its power consumption is below normal. The fault may be caused by the signal wire between the sensor and the control module being short-circuited to battery voltage, by a damaged sensor, or by an internal fault in the control module. The roof may then be operated only in a limited way or not at all.
Possible causes
- The signal wire between the hall sensor and the roof control module is short-circuited to voltage
- Damaged hall sensor
- Internal fault in the convertible roof control module
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check that the connector at hall sensor 19 is firmly seated and clean.
- 2Look for chafing or damage along the whole signal wire between the hall sensor and the roof control module.
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no battery voltage. If it has, the wire must be repaired.
- 4If the wire is in good condition, have a workshop replace hall sensor 19.
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop replace the convertible roof control module, as the fault most likely lies within it.
