What does this fault code mean?
Hall sensor 19 in the convertible roof gives no pulse when the hydraulic pump is running, and its power consumption is too high. The fault may be caused by the signal wire being short-circuited to ground, by a broken connection between the sensor and the control module, or by an internal fault in the sensor or the control module. The roof may then be operated only in a limited way or not at all.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to ground
- Broken connection between hall sensor 19 and the roof control module
- Internal fault in hall sensor 19
- Internal fault in the convertible roof control module
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check the connectors at hall sensor 19 and at the control module for looseness, oxidation or contacts that are not properly latched.
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire from hall sensor 19 has continuity all the way to the control module and no contact with ground (the body).
- 3Repair or replace the signal wire if it has a break or ground contact. If the wire is intact, have a workshop replace hall sensor 19.
- 4If the fault remains after this, have a workshop check the convertible roof control module.
