What does this fault code mean?
Position sensor 2 in the rear roof section puts voltage on its signal wire at the same moment the control module is to activate it. The fault is caused by the signal wire being short-circuited to battery voltage. The roof may then be operated only in a limited way or not at all.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to battery voltage
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, look for damage to the signal wire to position sensor 2 in the rear roof section: chafing, pinching or damaged insulation.
- 2With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no battery voltage. Voltage means a short to positive, and the wire must then be repaired or replaced.
- 3If the wire is in good condition, have a workshop replace position sensor 2.
- 4If the fault remains after this, have a workshop check the convertible roof control module, as the fault most likely lies within it.
Symptoms you may notice1
- No or limited roof operation
