What does this fault code mean?
Hall sensor 11 on the convertible roof of the C70 has not reached the expected position within a set time after the roof started a movement. The expected position depends on the movement the roof is to make. The cause may be a damaged or displaced sensor, or something mechanical blocking the roof.
Possible causes
- Damaged hall sensor
- The hall sensor has moved out of position
- Something mechanical is blocking the movement of the roof
What you can do
- 1If fault code CRM-C032 is stored, deal with it first, as this code is not detected while it is present
- 2Read out and clear the fault code, then test the roof in both directions and see whether the fault returns
- 3Look for objects or damage in the roof's travel area that could stop the roof
- 4Check that the sensor is firmly fixed and that the connector is free from corrosion and loose contacts
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, follow the sensor position in live data while the roof moves and check that the value changes
- 6If the fault remains after these checks, a workshop needs to replace or test the hall sensor
Symptoms you may notice2
- The roof is slow or impossible to open and close
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
